ISR Columbus is a unique swim program that offers infant survival swimming skills to children 6 months to 6 years.
ISR swim lessons are private one on one lessons that give children confidence in the water as well as survival skills should they happen to find themselves in a life threatening situation.
Tracy Wheeler and Mollie Zook are Certified Infant Swimming Resource Instructors that underwent an extensive 8-week training program to become qualified to teach this program and as instructors are held to a high standard of continuing education each year. Through training they learned how to teach breath control, proper swimming position and how to get children to float safely using specially designed techniques that do not rely on verbal cues. Mollie is entering her 6th year of teaching ISR, and teaches in the Northern Columbus area, and Tracy became certified in November 2017, and is teaching in the Southern/Eastern Columbus area.
Infant Swimming Resource is the safest and most effective survival swimming lessons offered.
- Lessons are 10 minutes a day, 5 days a week for 6 weeks. The unique design of the program allows for all children to learn to swim in a way that is tailored just for them. Allowing the child to swim every day for short increments of time allows for safe lessons, maximum retention and over effectiveness.
- Children 6 months to 18 months will learn how to safely roll to their back and float, until they are rescued, if they should meet the water accidentally.
Children around 18 months to 6 years will learn a sequence of Swim-Float-Swim to adequately move through the water, take rests and breathe as needed until they can safely reach an exit from the water. Even the most hesitant of getting their face wet will soon learn to enjoy the water and thrive in their new found confidence. Not only do these lessons build strong confident swimmer, they build strong confident kids outside the pool.
In the United States, drowning is the leading cause of death for children under the age of 4; ISR Columbus is dedicated to the ISR mission, “not one more child drowns.”

Big thank you to Mollie! The ISR program is absolutely the best. Both my kids have been doing ISR since they were little and now they can swim comfortably and safely around the pool area.
Ana Nataly, mom of Zoe age 2 and Josh age 6
We first learned of ISR through my cousin and her toddler in Kentucky and knew immediately that we wanted our children to have ISR in their skill set with a pond in my in-laws’ backyard long summer days at the pool approaching.
It is absolutely remarkable that our two year old can swim on her own and do so with a constant smile on her face. She loves Miss Mollie and so do we, as her patience and dedication are like no other. I truly cannot say enough good things about IRS and Miss Mollie – this is a must for any child!
